Our September meeting will have Rex Cannon as a guest speaker, discussion addiction in young minds. We will discuss simple descriptions of addiction and its effects on the family, relationships, the brain and most importantly the self. We will also cover definitions, common experiences, perceptual phenomenon and guides to search for mental health resources that may not be common knowledge in rural or socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. This is meant to inform and provide some clarity and hope to those impacted by addiction.
These meetings are an opportunity to meet with, and learn from fellow professionals, to share successes, discuss a challenging client, hear about new treatment modalities, or anything else that may be of interest to the group. The group typically meets every first Wednesday of the month at 1pm. We hope you will join us for 60 minutes of enlightening conversation.
